Duty Manager

 

Lune Valley Swimming Pool is looking for a qualified Duty Manager to join our friendly, community-focused team and play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the pool.

Whether you're looking for a regular weekend shift or a role with the opportunity for additional hours, we'd love to hear from you.

Flexible Weekend Hours

  • Saturday and Sunday (alternate weekends), or

  • Saturday only - 8:30am until 3:30pm

  • Sunday only - 8:15am until 3:15pm

 

Additional Hours

Alongside weekend shifts, there are opportunities to work weekday lifeguard shifts, cover holidays and sickness, with the potential for even more hours from the end of November.

 

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

  • Is reliable, friendly and confident

  • Can lead a team and deliver excellent customer service

  • Is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety

The role includes:

  • Overseeing the safe day-to-day operation of the pool

  • Supervising staff and supporting customers

  • Water testing and completing daily operational records

  • Reception duties, bookings and cash handling

  • Ensuring the facility is clean, safe and welcoming

 

Salary

Rate of pay: £11.85 for Duty Manager under 21 years old. £13.75 for Duty Manger over 21 years old.

 

Staff are appointed on a self-employed casual basis and flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business.

RLSS Lifeguard (Casual)

 

Lune Valley Swimming Pool in Hornby is looking to recruit an experienced, friendly and professional Lifeguard who will responsible for the safety of swimmers in the swimming pool. 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • To monitor the behaviour of swimmers during all sessions, enforcing where necessary the safety regulations appertaining to the swimming pool and ancillary facilities.

  • Report and record incidents and accidents to the Pool Managers.

  • Provide first aid in the event of injury, rescuing swimmers in danger or distress and administrating Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or artificial respiration, if necessary.

  • Ensure any first aid equipment/supplies are replaced in first aid boxes - notify Pool Managers of what has been used to ensure adequate supplies are maintained.

  • Assessing conditions for safety and coming up with an action plan for aquatics emergency.

  • Inspecting pool equipment, facilities and water to make sure they are usable and safe

  • Assisting in cleaning equipment and facilities

  • Attend monthly staff training sessions to ensure you maintain your required hours to maintain your qualification.

Essential qualifications​

  • RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

Experience​

  • Understanding of relevant Health and Safety requirements.

​

 

Salary
