Our Annual Sponsored Swim is BACK from the 16th - 22nd of March 2026!

This year our swimmers, local schools, staff and community members will be taking part in the challenge to swim the equivalent distance from John O'Groats to Land's End. We aim to swim an incredible 128 miles in total over the course of seven days!
What does that mean in our Pool?
Our pool is 16 metres long which means that in order to reach 128 miles, our swimmers will collectively complete:
1 mile = 101 lengths
128 miles =12,877 lengths
Every length counts and every swimmer's effort brings us closer to reaching this amazing goal!

Why do Fundraise
Lune Valley Swimming Pool is a community-run, not-for-profit facility. We provide swimming opportunities for children, families, adults and seniors in our local community- including:
​
- Children's swimming lessons
- School Swimming Lessons for 9 local primary schools and two schools for children with additional needs
- Family Fun sessions for families
AquaFit and health-focused sessions for adults and seniors
- Offer pool hire to local clubs and social groups, such as Scout Groups and support groups for children with additional needs

Operating as a community pool comes with significant costs. Heating, maintenance, staffing, and essential equipment require ongoing support, and as a not-for-profit organisation, we rely on funding and donations from people like you to keep our doors open.
The funds raised from this Sponsored Swim go directly back into the running and maintenance of our pool, helping us ensure it remains safe, welcoming, and accessible to everyone in our community.

How You Can Support Our Sponsored Swim
There are lots of ways you can help and show your support:
1. Sponsor a swimmer/Donate - every donation, big or small, contributes to keeping the pool open.
2. Take par yourself - count your lengths in the pool during the week of the 16th of March and let a member of staff know so we can add to our tally.
3. Spread the word - share our challenge with friends and family!

Last year, our amazing swimmers covered 126 miles and raised £2875.00 (before gift aid), all of which went directly back into the pool. This year, we’re aiming even higher - every length swum and every pound raised brings us closer to securing the future of our pool for the next generation.
